Rezensionen

If you read the book reviews I write, you will notice that I'm a rather voracious reviewer of nonfiction Christian books for adults and teenage Christian girls.

When I write book reviews for young teenage Christian girls, I can't help but recall when I was one and usually bring myself into the review. Even so, there are times where I need to satisfy my inner-child desires to read books designed for young children like herself.
My inner child loves to read stories about Coco and her adventures since each time she does, she learns something new about life and her faith. In the latest book about Coco, Coco experiences going shopping with parents for a Christmas tree and its trimming and some gifts. But, more importantly, Coco learns about the true meaning of Christmas and that the best gift she can give the Lord is by asking Him to be your Lord and Savior and saying that you accept Him in this manner.
This brings to my mind the first I had as a young Christian girl. For reminding me of the days when I was Coco's age and teaching all young Christian children what Coco has learned, my inner-child and I have given Dr. Lewis 5 STARS for this book

Before I began trying to be a good Christian woman, I’ve believed, like many of my Brethren-in-Christ, that suicide is an unforgivable sin. However, during my journey to become one, I have yet to find a single Scripture that defines suicide as an unforgivable sin. On the other hand, a refusal to believe in our Lord and Savior is the ONLY sin that can never be forgiven.

Still, in reading Scripture, we get reminded of Biblical figures who did commit suicide and took their own lives, not alone but publicly. The best example that comes to my mind can be found in JUDGES 16:28-30 [NLT]:

[28] Then Samson prayed to the LORD, “Sovereign LORD, remember me again. O God, please strengthen me just one more time. With one blow let me pay back the Philistines for the loss of my two eyes.”
[29] Then Samson put his hands on the two center pillars that held up the temple. Pushing against them with both hands,
[30] he prayed, “Let me die with the Philistines.” And the temple crashed down on the Philistine rulers and all the people. So he killed more people when he died than he had during his entire lifetime.

Today, our existence has become fraught with issues for far too many individuals grappling with suicidal inclinations and feeling that they’re alone. These individuals are inundated by such items as remorse, desperation, and disenchantment.

In this endeavor, author Dr. Shon Shree Lewis desires her readers to rescue themselves from committing an act that they never retract once it has been done, harming themselves and, worse, suicide. This book is designed to help these individuals by offering confidence-building guidance regarding who they are and appreciating themselves, acknowledging that they’ve got lots more to live for.

As Christians, we are reminded in PSALM 34:18 [NLT] of the following:

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”

For wanting to lift her readers out of the abyss, they’re in that are creating their suicidal thoughts, I’ve given Dr. Lewis 5 STARS for her uplifting endeavor here.

Once again, author Dr. Shon Shree Lewis' desire and passion for assisting her Christian brethren in healing themselves from their situations of mental and spiritual predicaments and sufferings with the aid of our Lord, the Great Physician's, healing and recovery capabilities, through the pages of her most recent writing endeavor, this book.

Dr. Lewis accomplishes this by skillfully interweaving her personal life experiences witnessing the Great Physician in action involving the lives and well-being of His children, with mental health techniques and her knowledge that is fraught with spiritual doctrines that should assist and empower her readers being resilient regarding themselves and their situations.

In regards to the Lord being the Great Physician, Our Lord, and Savior, Jesus Christ, in speaking about himself, once had stated:

"Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe" [JOHN 4:48 – NKJV]

But this doubting gets eliminated when we read JOHN 20:30-31 [NLT]

[30] "The disciples saw Jesus do many other miraculous signs in addition to the ones recorded in this book."
[31] "But these are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in Him, you will have life by the power of his name.

For Dr. Lewis' wanting to improve the lives of her Christian readers from their possible traumatization through the use of her experiences and Scriptures, I've given her endeavor here, 5 STARS.

n this, Dr. Shon Shree Lewis’ third outing in using a young Christian girl with the name of Coco as her young protagonist, Coco learns not to be afraid of the dark.

While all of us have been afraid of the dark at one point or another as young children, we got shown by our parents; usually, our mothers showed us we didn’t have to be scared. My mother, for incidence, came into my dark room, took my hand, and showed me there was nothing to be afraid of with a flashlight.

While this worked, looking back as I’m trying to be a good Christian woman, I wish my mother would have done what Dr. Lewis does in her book. I wish my mother would have incorporated the Lord in what she had been attempting to teach me.

Dr. Lewis once again gently teaches her young readers to possess having faith in the Lord, for he is always present in our lives, protecting us from harm and instilling in us we have nothing to fear.
My inner child feels she has learned a great deal about not being afraid of the dark with the Lord by her side, which is why I’ve given Dr. Lewis 5 STARS for her inspiring faith-driven children’s book.
