My journey in trying to be a good Christian woman has created an unending discovery of who I am, as well as the power each of us possesses. This power is not merely us receiving the Lord's blessings for performing the tasks He desires for us to do in His name. There is also the power we receive as we spread His teachings and causing others to turn in believing in Him as they become devoted members of His flock.

Believing in the Lord, we come into possession of certain weapons that we can use either for good or, unfortunately, things capable of harming others. And one of the most powerful of these weapons deals with the strength of the words we use daily. While the words we use can certainly impact others, the majority of the time, we tend to forget the way these same words will impact our lives, in either positive or negative manners. One of the best ways to illustrate this is for each of us to remember that we get three fingers pointing back at us whenever we point the finger at someone.

When we speak, we always need to keep in our minds the power that gets contained in the words we use. That is why we always remember the necessity of engaging our minds before we disengage our tongues before we begin to speak or later regret what we might have said.

We. therefore, need instruction in how we need to utilize the gift of speech the Lord has given us. For let us remember what we read regarding our speaking in PROVERBS 16:23 [NKJV]:

"The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, And adds learning to his lips."

And in PROVERBS 15:28 [NKJV], we read the following:

"The heart of the righteous studies how to answer, But the mouth of the wicked pours forth evil."

In this book, by Dr. Lewis, the author desires for readers to become knowledgeable in how they speak so they won't be able to cause any diabolic confrontations or devastations from occurring in their lives. She wants her readers to become inspired in uttering the appropriate words, words that aren't based on themselves but are based instead on the words of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
