Summary: Today Joey is going to see the doctor. The nurse sees how much he's grown since his last visit, the doctor looks at his tongue, and gives him a shot. It hurts, but only for a minute.The whole time, Joey gets to play with a puppet the doctor gives him.

Reflection: This was a very simple, but cute book. It asks the children questions as it goes along, such as "Can you guess what Joey will sit on?" and gives them options such as an elephant or a tree stump (all of the options are illustrated). There is very little text, and plenty of pictures, so it's great for younger children.

Extension ideas: This is the perfect book for a daycare center to have. I think it would be neat to have a doctor or nurse come in and let the children see some of the things that would be found in a doctor's office such as a tongue depressor or stethoscope.The children could listen to one another's heartbeats.… (mehr)
