What I'm reading/browsing/skimming is the 52 piece original collection from WDL at: https://www.wdl.org/en/item/4678/#page=2&collection=chinese-rare-book-collec... which is super extra awesome, and which I've no idea how to reference here, as I have no idea what it would be an an edition or editions.

Bloody lovely bit of scanning by the Library of Congress, and clearly I'm going to have to nab a more modern version like the one I'm claiming to be reading here. Except that it's $700, and I'm dirt poor most of the time.

*shrugs*

Fun, fun read.

Li Shi Zhen is arguably the greatest natural historian that China has ever produced. Born in 1518 C.E., this influential philosopher’s works include the Ben Cao Gang Mu, a classical compendium of materia medica and one of the masterpieces of Chinese medical literature; and the Bin Hu Mai Xue, the classic of pulse diagnosis.

The Bin Hu Mai Xue was written by Li Shi Zhen as an extension of a Song Dynasty classic originally edited by his father. It has been an essential medical text in China for nearly 500 years and continues to be a necessary manual for students of Chinese medicine, and an important medical reference.

This translation includes annotations and simple explanations, as well as pulse diagrams based on electro-cardiogram readings. These are current standards used throughout China.
