In this story the author brings up the question: Have you ever wondered what your guinea pig’s six great grandparents looked like? It is told by Paleontologist Dr. Dean Lomax and takes a closer look at seven of our favorite pets and uses fossil clues to reveal their animal ancestors. There are dramatic pop ups on each spread that bring the animals up close and personal. I would recommend this for a classroom collection. It would be great for studying prehistoric animals. The pop up pages are a nice addition.
