"Sundry Extras" is an interesting book that looks at the lesser lights of Ashes series past, with a couple of pages on players like Albert Trott, and a page on Don Blackie, the 46 year old spinner with match figures of 10/242 in his debut Test but discarded a few matches later.

While this book is somewhat dated by now, there are some excellent tidbits of information on now-nearly forgotten players such as Jack Badcock unfortunately copping the nickname "Musso" due to his apparent resemblance to Il Duce. And no book on Australian cricket history is complete without mentioning the fisticuffs that occurred between Clem Hill and Peter McAlister.

If you can track this now obscure tome down, it's certainly worth a read.… (mehr)
