Fascinating book by an Indian couple about how and why Carey made such an impact on India. They are very critical of current Hindu philosophy and of the Indian Church at times. Carey they say believed that God could change people and that things were not ruled by fate. In contrast he reckoned he had a vocation or destiny to do what he could for India. The only casualty of his vocation was of course his first wife, Dorothy.
Amazing that one man with a modest education could do so very much for one country.
