An excellent book on TTL circuits that does not suffer from being 30 years old. (I mean, obviously you can do all this stuff with an FPGA or MCU but there is still a need for TTL design, especially in intro coursework at college/university.)

This book gives a very good introduction (although I would not recommend it for a total beginner) to the design and properties of TTL devices, and then goes into applications for each basic chip, and then goes into the more specialized chips.

I would suggest this along with TTL Cookbook and TTL Logic Data Book: Standard TTL, Schottky, Low-Power Schottky Circuits for a well-rounded library.… (mehr)
