When Kat's Away picks up where Anna Doubles Down ends. Kat looks for Anna but cannot find her. She calls the cops but disappears before they can get there. She winds up at the same place Anna did but 28 years later. Here she meets Win and David.

I enjoyed Kat. She had qualms about getting involved with Win and David since David is Anna's biological son and Win, her adopted son. She tries not to get involved but the men have been waiting for her for 20 years and they are not going to lose her over her qualms. Watching her get over her ick factor of lusting over Anna's son, and Anna's less than enthusiastic response, gives light hearted moments. It is hard for Kat to deal with the loss of her modern comforts but she will persevere like Anna. Being followed by someone who is onto her secret is creepy.

I liked this story and look forward to the finish of the trilogy.… (mehr)

Anna goes on vacation to a ghost town with her friend Kat. Drawn to the saloon she falls into a hole that brings her to the 1870's Wild West. Here she meets Beau and Zeke who have trouble at first believing she comes from the future. She has to convince them of her honesty and do what she has been sent to do.

I liked Anna. Thrust back in time she makes the best of the situation without her modern conveniences. Attracted to Beau and Zeke she partners with them both to create a strong unified trio. As they keep reminding her, things are different in their world but she also shows them that attitudes and acceptance changed in her world.

I loved that Beau and Zeke accepted her. Humor crops up as Anna uses modern sayings and the men are confused by it. I enjoyed her feistiness and their need to protect her as their woman. I also liked that she worked to fit into their world although she kept looking for her modern conveniences and tastes.

At times I had trouble figuring out who was doing what to whom during the love scenes and would have to re-read passages. On the whole though I liked the loves scenes whether they were ménage or one-on-one.

I look forward to reading the other books of this trilogy.… (mehr)
