At one stage I was responsible for marketing Australian Franchises with Austrade ....or more accurately....my enthusiastic colleague was doing all the actual leg work whilst I tried to claim some of the credit as the "great leader". Anyway, i was interested in Franchising as a way of marketing all sorts of services that were impossible to sell. (I recall suggesting to the Wiggle's manager that they consider a franchise model for selling in Japan and Taiwan. Not sure if they acted on meh suggestion but that 's what they eventually did. This little book seems reasonably thorough about the business of franchising: Though I remember the sage words of advice from a colleague in the Dept of industry where they were trying to establish a code for Franchising, that the industry was fraught with bad blood both on the part of the franchisees and the Franchisors. But I'm now in the position of having to downsize my library and this book is one of the casualties. Pity but I won't be using it in th future. I give it four stars.… (mehr)
