Andy J. McClure

I had high hopes for Visions, which is about a Vietnam Vet who suffers from posttraumatic stress disorder. The author, Andy J. McClure, is himself a Vietnam Vet, and I expected him to bring authenticity to the story. Factually, McClure did that. However, Visions reads more like a newspaper story than a novel. McClure tells the tale but does not show it. The words lack emotion and depth. I was being told but I wasn’t feeling anything and, consequently, didn’t get involved or care much about the story or the characters in it.
