the story is about helping a child cope and understand cancer when their parent or someone they may know has cancer. 3-5
A book that can support any child facing cancer. Bibliotherapy that gives Factual information about a crisis situation, models positive and appropriate interactions.
In this story a mother has cancer and she is slowly explaining to them what it means to have cancer and how it can affect the family. What makes this story so intriguing is that it is told from the perspective of the child, so it’s like the child is narrating the story. The illustrations for this book are inspired by real life drawings that a brother and sister drew to explain what is happening to their mom (the author). This book is appropriate for ages 3-5.
