This is a quick read with an interesting premise. The notion of Alchemy and Sorcery has been fascinating for such a very long time and in this book, the author tells us of the tale of the search for Merlin's journal and the desire to bring alchemy, sorcery, and magic back. I enjoyed the characters - what little I knew of them. That is my biggest complaint - there needed to be more detail about the characters, the 'history' in the book, the current atmosphere, etc. I just felt like it was one step away from being something that was a "FULL" novel - if you understand what I'm trying to describe. I hope that the author fills out the next book a bit more - giving us more detail and enriching the story to bring me (as the reader) into their world a bit more.… (mehr)
