Lüchow's German Cookbook; The Story & Favorite… von Jan Mitchell
The sauerbraten (sour beef) recipe contained within this book is almost identical (as far as I can recollect) to the one my German mother & grandmother used to make. I am grateful to have found it as my husband is fan of this dish. Authentic German recipes AND Bemelmans' wonderfully whimsical illustrations make this book a winner.
