This study goes through the book of Genesis from creation to the life of Joseph. Biblical creation teaches us about the human race; Christ and salvation; and practical Christian living.

Men of Science / Men of God is a brief compilation of bios of great men of science who were creationists (although not all were evangelical). It is great as a starting point or a reference, and the entries I found especially interesting or illuminating were those of:
Samuel Morse (p.47), Joseph Henry (p.49), Matthew Maury (p.49), and James Clerk Maxwell (p.68).

Critics of the doctrine of creation often attempt to marginalize the great truths of God's creative acts. The reality, however, is that creation is mentioned in each of the Bible's 66 books. This is one of the great ignored truths of the modern Church. Far from being a trivial issue, or one that can be interpreted many different ways, God's record of creation displays a marvelous and clear consistency throughout. From the symphony of the creation week in Genesis, to the promise of a new heaven and a new earth in Revelation, the Bible speaks of a recent, six-day creation of the universe. A respected scholar, the late Dr. Henry M. Morris spent over six decades studying God's Word, and his commentaries enriched the faith of many. In this remarkable book, Dr. Morris examines both the famous creation account in Genesis, as well as lesser-known references, such as Ezra and Colossians. Biblical Creationism is a devastating response to the Bible's critics. Henry Morris, Ph.D. , (deceased) earned the title, "The Father of Modern Creationism," through with his numerous writings about the creation/evolution debate. He was a respected scientist and wrote, textbook author and the founder of the Institute for Creation Research in California.,The leading author/apologist for young-earth creationism surveys Bible passages relating to events or themes recorded in Genesis 1-11, and summarizes and organizes biblical and noncanonical Jewish works. Morris also defends the view that records were kept from the time of Adam and includes implications for scripture use not commonly considered.

Pseudo-science. Probably, not worth your time unless you want verification that the purpose of creation science is to foster teaching religion in public schools.

The Remarkable Birth of Planet Earth by Henry M. Morris was next. This 100 (ish) page book was written by a creationist that is (or was) an engineer by training. I enjoyed a lot of this little book and I also see his Christian bias. Dr. Morris values the complexity of God’s creation, values natural laws and how those are opposite of what is claimed in evolution. He takes a look at space and always comes back to the creationist perspective. There is an obvious worldview laid down in this book and he often talks about “the bias” of evolution and their interpretations but is doing the same thing with the creationists side of the issue. We cannot get away from interpretation. I think he did a fine job with what he was trying to do. I’d give this book 3 out of 5 stars.

Mr.Morris wrote a level-headed commentary on Revelation. This is not one of those sensationalistic books! This book takes a futuristic, literal approach to the book of Revelation.
There are a few minor areas where I disagree with the author, but overall I found this book to be a very good read.
He has some interesting scientific theories that I haven't heard before.
Very interesting early church history and geographical information.
His theories on the identity of the 24 elders are thought-provoking.
He notes the relevance of Zehariah's prophecy(Zech.5:5-11)of the ephah to the black horse of Rev.6:5.Something I had never thought of!
I was exposed to some different theories and I came away with some more education on Revelation as a result of reading this book.

I bought this Bible during a time that I was teaching on evolution versus creation. The notes and additional material in this Bible are invaluable for that topic. Dr. Morris' notes help, as the title suggests, to defend the scriptures, against evolutionary detractors. I still use this as my primary study Bible even though its only available in the KJV. The one drawback I would cite is Dr. Morris' promotion of the premillennial dispensationalist eschatology in the notes and commentary.

NO OF PAGES: 720 SUB CAT I: Creation Science SUB CAT II: Commentary SUB CAT III: DESCRIPTION: The Genesis Record is a scientific devotional commentary on the book of beginnings written by a creationist scientist. This book is written in the narrative rather than a verse-by-verse analysis form. In this work Morris guides the reader through the earth's early history showing his expertise in hydrology and geology so Scripture can be better understood. Dr. Morris writes from the conviction that the first eleven chapters of Genesis are as truly historical as the remaining thirty-nine. This conviction is not based simply on faith, but on many years of study of the scientific aspects of the Genesis record as well as the interchange of ideas with many other scientists and theologians (both creationists and evolutionists).NOTES: Donated by Spike and Teri Psarris. NO OF PAGES: 381 SUB CAT I: Bible SUB CAT II: SUB CAT III: DESCRIPTION: One of the great distinguishing features of the Faith is its incurable historicity! The crucial events that secured the eternal salvation of those who believe in Messiah occurred not in some dreamland of another world but rather in the realm of space called earth and in the realm of time called history. The incarnation, the atonement, and the resurrection of Messiah are actual historical events in our own world and in the experience of our ancestors. Thus, salvation is available for all the Called.NOTES: Donated by S. Kase SUBTITLE:
