My Review:

My Favorite Character/s: I may as well skip this because it's the same as with Miss Morris' other books in her Christmas Collection. The characters are interesting and enjoyable to read about. My favorite of the short stories is I'll Be Home For Christmas!

My thoughts: This was a likable collection of short stories that I loved since they were set during WWII, I would have liked to know about the characters and what happened to them.

Old Marley adopted Michael Edwin McCormick. Well, not formally. Adoption from the heart.

The little boy’s smile and laugh quickly earned him the nickname of Sonny. Old Marley and Sonny live together in a shack in a coal miner’s town. It’s almost Christmas, and Old Marley and Sonny plan to have a Christmas tree. They’re determined to find one as each wants this joy for the other. Time is running out.

The hope of making a Christmas wish come true becomes a heartwarming short story. Don’t miss the magical joy of hope.… (mehr)

Angie Wilson, Jenna, and Stephanie Stephens are together at the Wilsons' home. Their parents reminded them of the house rules before they left together to attend a holiday party nearby. The girls decide to call another friend, but instead of reaching Lynn, they've got the wrong number. Does the wrong number put the girls in danger? Or is the call a lifeline?

It feels important to note that the author's inspiration for the short story was...
"… old TV shows promoting the importance of the then new 9-1-1 call system. The stories were all based on real events and people who had used the system to get help."
For this reader, the story's setting matches the period of the former TV shows. Otherwise, the ages of the teenagers are not reflected in the maturity of their dialogue in a contemporary short story with ©2021 copyright.

Short and sweet. A reminder that sometimes a mistake at the moment becomes the best thing that could have happened for everyone.
