Gordon Mote (1) (1970–)

This collection of piano music is quietly contemplative. Most of the songs have a fairly slow tempo. I did like the bit of pep in When the Roll Is Called up Yonder.

Technically, the music is well played. If you enjoy piano music or hymns, I think you will enjoy it. If you are looking for more of a Southern gospel music style, this isn't it.

A friend gave me This nice CD of gospel-style piano music. There is complexity to the music, but not so much as to overshadow the melody. There are a lot of older songs to be heard. My favorites are Give the World a Smile, Jesus Loves Me (I love the way it starts out so simple and then gains more and more depth), and The Old Rugged Cross.

If you enjoy religious piano music, I think you'll really enjoy this collection.

A friend gave me this CD (the actual songs, not the accompaniment CD). I am so glad he did. I love it. It is hard to pick favorites, but if I had to choose, it would be Adoration, Wake up Dancin' (have tissues ready), and On the Other Side of Time. There's something for every mood: slow, fast, reflective, joyful.

If you like religious music with a quiet pop or country feel, you would probably like it. If you like compositions that are "Gaither-ish," you should try this.
