Bette Murphy Mroz seems to have an almost instinctual feel for what young readers would like.
I am by no means a _young_ reader but I like and admire how she presents a story so that young readers can and will like it, but so will those of us who could be grand-fathers to those young readers.
Author Mroz has done something I wondered about. I wondered if it would be possible: Can anyone present the Christmas Story in a new and interesting, and still respectful, way?
She can and does.
Of course the best time to read, or to buy as a gift, "The Rest of the Christmas Story" is around Christmas. But actually ANY time is a good time.
Perhaps Easter especially.
This is a sweet book, but it's also an informative book: It teaches about the life of the young Jesus, about His culture, His language, his earthly parents.
It's a short book, so I guess this should be a short review. I'll just say this: I highly enjoyed "The Rest of the Christmas Story" and highly recommend it.
