This is a great picture book for toddlers. The illustrations are simple and not cluttered, yet demonstrate what is happening in the text. The text is large and very easy to read. Annabel is a little girl with a big imagination. She imagines that she is something different each day. All the things she picks are great things for someone to do when they get older such as a doctor, astronaut, artist, musician and even a superhero and princess thrown in for good measure. This is a simple, sweet book about a young girl and her cat. They do all sorts of things together throughout the year. The English text is paired with Spanish on each page. The illustrations are also simple, colourful and engaging for little ones. A great book for an ESL classroom or children trying to learn Spanish. Simple text will also be good for young readers who are learning to read. My grandchildren enjoyed the simple story and started telling me things they did with their cat. A good conversation starter.
