Bill Noel

This read was as good as the first in the series and I'm so happy there are many more to go!! They characters continue to evolve into people you see in your mind and want to know what they are up to in the next book. As always the setting of Folly Beach is near and dear to so many that love the LowCountry of SC.

Great start to a nice long series, new author for me! I have the second, The Pier, and plan to order a few more to zip through. I will never tire of reading about anywhere in The Lowcountry and Bill Noel does a good job of keeping us entertained on Folly Beach.

I mostly enjoyed Bill Noel's debut novel, set mostly in Folly Beach, South Carolina. It's part murder mystery, part parade of eccentric residents. I found the dialogue stilted and obviously story-moving, rather than fluid and natural. Amusingly, I found his writing style a little too close to my own, but that also makes me want to read his next novel.
