Another Man’s Son by Glenys O’Connell
Lobster Cove Series

When Ben Asher and Kathryn Fitzgerald Morgan see one another again or the first time in seven years it is as if those seven years have never happened. A dance, a kiss and then a rude awakening as Katherine’s husband steps in to “claim” her...not that he WANTS her but he does want to own her. The story moves forward and we find out what happened during the seven years Ben and Kathryn apart, what both have been doing, what kept them apart, misunderstandings that have occurred and then when a kidnapping takes place all bets are off as the clock ticks and a child needs to be saved.

This was an interesting story that was much like many of the genre. It was well told with characters I could empathize with while still thinking at times they were rather stupid to have made the decisions they did. If more than one of them had just been honest with themselves and those they cared about their lives could have been so much different. The story was told linearly with an eventual HEA for the main characters.

Thank you to NetGalley and The Wild Rose Press, Inc. for the ARC – This is my honest review.

This is the first book I've read in the Lobster Cove series. Though the setting is wonderful, the characters are what make this story shine. I could imagine the sexy FBI agent who was undercover as the acting sheriff, and felt so sorry for Katherine (sp?) who was trapped in a loveless marriage to the son of the most powerful man in Lobster Cove. Romance is strong in this story, but I loved the action and adventure and sense of urgency as the two search for their kidnapped son (hence the title).

For those who enjoy a dash of romance in their suspense/mystery novels, this is a must read.

When I read the T of C, I thought I knew most of what she was going to say. But it cost $.00 so I started reading. Solid advice presented in logical progression with examples and homework. Nothing new and startling in it, but basic craft re-enforced and well presented. Well worth it to me.
