Liz Orwin

I enjoyed the story but at times I found it dragging. I will go on and read the sequel. This book takes on the scenario of Richard III and his niece Elizabeth having a relationship and Richard's plan on marrying her after his wife's death. Of course, all York fans know that this is all speculation but the books are written as if it was true. I do think the author handled such a sensitive subject very well and I would overall rate it a 3.5.

Better than the first

Enjoyed this sequel much more than the first book. Although there were a few parts where it dragged it hardly merits a mention. Much more character development and great handling of the sensitive topic. I also appreciated the author wrapping up all the story lines.

Liked it

The story starts with a young Anne Neville around four years old up to the time she is taken (set-up by her brother-in-law George). The book fast forwards a lot and thus will make those not familiar with her story finding it hard to endear themselves to her. Written more like a diary rather then historical fiction, I still liked it and will proceed on to the next book.

Better than the first

This second book in the series details Anne's life while she was held captive due to her brother-in-law George. Very detailed and you get to know Anne far better than the first book. However, the story ends with her getting ready to marry Richard and seemed a bit abrupt.
