When I read teh GN version of this novel, I was a little surprized that the language had not been translated or simplified. The only thing that made this version slightly easier to understand than the original is that there is less content. The watercolor illustrations create an accurate reflection of the mood during the 1600's, but do not necessarily make this story any easier to understand.½
