I feel sorry for the student who has to learn research methods from this book. The presentation of statistical methods is just horrendous, as mathematical formulas are paraded back and forth without any theoretical background explanations. And the language of the book often seems to be intentionally obscure. If political scientists often draw false conclusions from oversimplified and automated mathematical calculations, books like this one are to blame.
