I liked it a lot! It wasn't too outrageous and it didn't drag on like some quasi-sci fi tend to. It caught my attention and kept it to the end. I loved how ordinary Brad was, how he had so many regrets like many of us. Its true that it had a lot of concepts thrown in together but that didn't stop me from liking it. I especially liked the idea that aliens shouldn't necessarily be extra-terrestrial but they can be the result of evolution. The concept of humans being treated like rare animals to be acquired and displayed is interesting too. I wish the author takes this concept further in the next book.… (mehr)

Liked this more than the first one. Or maybe I'm just getting used to the author's style of writing. I would also have included the effects of salinity on the list which lead Earth towards its downfall. Its one of the factors that is not being given enough importance. The story was the right length and the concept that it was based on, intriguing. Had fun, will read the others too.

Like the shorts before, loved it. The details that the author pays attention to make his work even more amazing. I wanted this to be longer but I think the length is part of its charm. The story did put me off because of the lengthy dialogues between Eric and Veronica (part one) but it more than made up for that as I read ahead. I kept thinking Eddy'd return an android and then read the author's notes at the end and he said something similar there. Thank god, he didn't do that to Eddy! I loved how the future humans started to think androids were gods and thus immortal. It showed how myths are based on history, no matter how loosely.
Need more from this author!

The Ghost of Siena by Vincent Pet

This was a very interesting and weird short story. I give it a 4 star review. Please be aware that my reviews may contain spoilers.

This book is based in Siena, Tuscany, Italy.

This story is about a college student that is looking to get out of the crowded house he shares with other students. He is looking to rent a one room apartment.

When he finds a room to rent that has a bed, kitchenette, and a desk he takes the room but has uneasy feelings about the place.

This book was written in first person but it has very long paragraphs.

I will admit the book was good and interesting. Please remember that the author is trying to make this book sound like it is being written as a letter to someone. This is part of the setting for the book and should not be counted against the author.
