It started off strong, but then I started noticing jumps in the story that I didn't feel were connected well to the events, and then the protagonist started acting more like a bumbling-tough-guy-idiot-cop and it wasn't for comedic effect. He just kept making stupid decisions that didn't make sense. If his mistakes were written in a comedic form, rather than serious, I would have accepted them.
