Alissa Quart is the executive director of the Economic Hardship Reporting Project. She is the author of four previous acclaimed books, Branded, Republic of Outsiders, Hothouse Kids, and the poetry collection Monetized. She writes regularly for the Guardian, the New York Times, and the New York mehr anzeigen Review of Books, among other publications, and teaches journalism, currently at Brown University.
