This is a board book. This has different babies doing activities, one dressed in each color (ie. purple, red, green, etc.). Each page is divided into 3 moving sections, and you can turn those separately to mix and match the babies heads, torsos, and legs.

The outside of the spine has fabric on it, so instead of the paper spine tearing up, this one holds up to lots of wear and abuse, with the fabric reinforcement possibly getting dirty, but not tearing up or separating like a paper spine would do.

The Cat and company travel by hot air balloon up and into various weather phenomena including rain, snow, thunder, tornadoes, and (yikes!) even hurricanes! Along the way they learn about thermometers, anemometers, wind vanes, cloud formations, humidity, fog, smog, weather folklore, and how to stay safe in lightning.

Ever wonder where all the garbage we throw away goes? It goes to the landfill and that can be harmful to our Earth. The Lorax tells about ways we can reduce, reuse, and recycle. We could turn the water off while we brush our teeth, reuse water bottles, and bags, turn the lights off during the day, and recycle things such as batteries. All these things can help us protect our Earth!

This book is really good for children because it teaches them how to rhyme words together while also still keeping the story fun . Children should read this because it is fun and exciting but also teaches them a lesson.

With the Cat in the Hat as our guide, we are off to visit the planets, the stars, and the sun. First, we’ll visit the eight planets in our solar system, then we’ll play a star dot-to-dot game to see the constellations. Then we’ll see our sun and Earth’s moon where we’ll learn about the astronauts exploring there.

The Cat in the Hat has a present for us so that we will be able to look up in the sky and discover something new. What could it be?

=========

Told in rhyme, this delightful trek through the sky introduces beginning readers to the concepts of space. Targeted for the youngest readers, ages three through six, preschool through primary grades, the beloved Cat in the Hat serves as the guide as readers soar through the skies learning about the solar system, planets, star constellations, and astronauts. A glossary is included for defining words; a further reading list offers suggestions for readers interested in learning more about space.

This revised edition, part of The Cat in the Hat’s Learning Library, introduces young readers to basic nonfiction. Providing a foundation upon which young readers will be able to build as they gain reading fluency, the books in this series present nonfiction in a way that is both educational and entertaining.

Highly recommended.

This book is all about space and the objects that reside within space. The solar system is the topic that I enjoy most in this book. The Cat in the Hat goes through the planets eloquently. I would use this book as an introduction to a lesson on our solar system.

A fun, entertaining book with lots of real facts about reptiles. Includes commonly known and lesser-known reptiles. Lots of fun to give to students to peruse on their own.

It begins with Cat in the Hat picking up the kids to go on a trip to space. Cat introduces the order of the solar system, and explains some facts. Mentions constellations, and even talks about a little bit about the moon landing. My favorite part of this book is that it gives vocabulary and definition at the back of the book. This book keeps this topic simple, and fun to read, but it would be a introductory book only.

This Dr. Seuss book is all about the Space, including information on: the Solar System, constellations, and astronauts. The information is told as The Cat in the Hat tells Thing 1 and Thing 2 about space. It gives details about each planet in the Solar System in a fun and easy to understand way. It also includes a tip for remembering all of the planets that are in the Solar System. This is such a great book for students to learn about space as Dr. Seuss' rhyming and simplistic words make this story captivating and easy for kids to understand.
