It leads you to places where you can reflect, enjoy, experience, realize, not in an active, ecstatic, vibrant mode, but in a quiet way, that helps you forget how large the metropolitan area is that you are visiting. Besides Los Angles itself, you are taken from Malibu right across to the San Gabriel Valley, and from Long Beach up to the San Fernando Valley. 110 places are covered, and besides a nice description and perhaps an evocative photograph or two, there is a convenient listing of 'essential' information.
