This book was certainly... something, I don't entirely know how to describe it as it was certainly a bit of a unique reading experience. I wasn't too into the whole truthseeker / morphing paradigm the story had going on initially but as events unfold the focus shifts from what aspect of things into more about how the world around the characters is slowly unraveling.

I liked the aura of mystery around the events, even now having read this I'm not entirely sure the disease is real or just a fabrication of the 'World Council' to get their way. I could see this book being a wet dream for conspiracy theorists as the events are out there, but not so out there that they're unrealistically absurd, at least as far as the conspiracy theorist view point.

By the end of the book I was fully invested in what was unfolding and I really hope the sequel comes along soon as overall this was a great book set in a future where what makes society function is crumbling away.… (mehr)
