Superheroes Don't Fall in Love is the second book in a superhero romance series. I was a bit disappointed to find out that this book doesn't continue with Hana and Bashir's story from the first book, BUT their stories are interwoven so I was happy to see that!

That being said, this book follows Riko, who we're introduced to in I Don't Date Superheroes. This story starts out with Riko on a mission when an asset becomes her problem and she has to "babysit" him. From here you can kind of predict what will happen (romance novel!). Even being a bit predictable, the journey is still entertaining.

If you've read the first book in this series, you're in for more witty banter, more action, more adventure, and more bits of romance! The only thing I found a bit annoying was the repetitive use of certain words or phrases in the beginning of the story, otherwise, the plot was smooth and I thoroughly enjoyed this world-traversing, quick read!

Thank you SD Rogue for the e-arc to read and honestly review!

A fun book, if a bit rushed. The plot moves along quickly, which is nice, but it limits characters actually interacting and growing. Overall I enjoyed it; I wanted a fun book about superheroes and romance, and that's what I got. In future books I hope to see into the characters a bit more.

Hana, an ex-combat nurse, is now medic to a remarkable group of superheroes: the Paladins. Her one rule in life is not to date one of these superheros. When handsome speedster Bashir shows up on her doorstep to ask for her help, she agrees but will doing so lead her to break the one rule that has kept her heart safe?

This had an interesting premise: superheroes- men and women whose circumstances have granted them super powers- work for a world organization to make a difference. Hana, as a medic, puts them back on their feet when missions get too rough. She has reason to keep romance at bay, and I expected there to be a lot of a normal person finding her feet around gifted people.

However, this brings us to the biggest cliche of the story: Bashir isn't like the other self-important and proud Paladins because he is... kind? Thoughtful? Persistent in winning Hana over? Then, we are shown that the vast majority of Paladins are selfish and arrogant individuals who are difficult to like.

I would have liked to have seen more depth in all the characters. The "villain" was obvious from the moment he was introduced so the betrayal fell flat. I also would have liked better world building. The characters go to different places, but the settings never really took shape in my mind as I was reading.

Overall, it is a fun idea that could have used just a little more polish (and editor to spot the misspellings). I would recommend it to readers who enjoy science fiction with plenty of adventure and romance.

I received a free copy from the author and all opinions expressed are my own.

This was a quick and fun read. I really liked the characters and their interactions. I loved that it had a strong female character who could take care of herself, and that there was a lot of action with the hint of romance. It was just right.
The writing got a bit stiff in a few places but then picked back up. There were some typos but since I received it for free I will put that down to being an advance reading copy.
This is the beginning of a promising series and I look forward to reading the next installment.… (mehr)
