I thought it was pretty unique and I wish for all us older ladies to have a chance to be free and wild.

Disclaimer: I was given this book for free as part of the Library Thing Early Reviewer (LTER) program for an honest review.

This is a great ending to a great story. All the familiar characters continue on in this journey with much action and adventure. Malia continues to show what a great confident and strong young woman she is, always wanting to do the right thing by her people and, in this journey, continuing to ensure that the Jeguduns are looked after as well as wanting to help the Maddion women. I found that many of the characters grew and developed, especially those that were not so likeable. Some, of course, continued to be unlikeable all the way right up to the end, but I found this part of the story very engaging and action packed. The dragons played an important role in the final scenes and I also really liked the ending and how the characters were managed right threw to the end. The whole trilogy is one that I will look forward to reading again in the future as each book had a great story, character development and the final book rounded everything up and gave great closure to the story.… (mehr)

This second book in the story is even better than the first. We are reintroduced to familiar characters, such as Malia, the main character and Rasmus, Vedran (her brother) and Enuwal. Then we are introduced to a number of new characters such as Taluh, Aru, Chandra, Ankti, Muvumo, Delkis and the Changer aka Mutara.

This book picks up where book 1 finished off, following Malia's journey and what happened to her at the end of book 1 and what she is trying to do about her situation. Malia's journey is one fought with adventure and danger, not just to herself, but also to her loved ones. It is a journey of self discovery and ultimately the price you pay for decisions made. This book is a well rounded story, and has a good ending, but does have a bit of a cliff hanger. I look forward to reading the next book.… (mehr)

This is a good start to the story. The reader is introduced to several characters, some likeable, others not so much, and the story begins to take shape. As the story progresses, the characters develop and grow with the story. The main character, Malia, is a strong and outwardly confident young woman. She wants to do the right thing by her clan, even if it is not what she personnaly wishes for. As Malia grows in character, the story moves along and reveals gradually Malia's role with her society.

There are three societies touched on, the Taakwa, which Malia is apart of, then there are the Jegudun, misunderstood by the Taakwa and finally the Maddison, who are enemies to the Taakwa and Jegudun. As Malia begins her journey in exile, the read slowly learns more about the relationship between the Taakwa and Jegudun and the role of the Maddison and why they are the enemy.

The characters all played their roles well. I really like Malia, Rasmus, Tuvin, Enuwal and Vacir and not so much Dalibor. The superstition held by the villages is sad to see, as it is not based on reality but perception. However, as the story builds, it is explained why the Taakwa's have the superstitions that they do.

The book has a good ending, wrapping up the events nicely, but also leaving it open for the next book. I look forward to commencing the next book in this trilogy.
