There are only 1,056 pages in this edition - I feel short-changed.

This is the soccer fans Bible but would one buy it on the basis of a review in Zoo: `You know you couldn't do without it'?

Just the 976 pages stuffed with facts in its welcoming blue covers. Good heavens, I had forgotten that on 15th February 2000 Chesterfield lost one nil at home to Stoke City in the Northern Semi Final of the Autowindscreen Shield. Stoke went on to win the final.

One copy once graced the shelves of Gravesend Public Libraries, the other belonged to a child who sadly coloured in letters such as eaoo etc. Pity Hull City wasn't on the cover. Looking back from the 50th anniversary of this football Bible, I raise a glass to whomsoever set this vital annual publication
in motion.
