This book is the second in a series and even though I didn't read the first it didn't bother me. The main character is super annoying but a lot are. I guess she was more realistic that way. Fun read.

I received this book for free from Early Reviewers and if I hadn't, I probably wouldn't have finished it. I tried to get into it, but I just couldn't get to the point where I cared about the characters or was interested in the story. This one just wasn't really for me.

I enjoyed Better Believe It and appreciate how the book looks at how people may make choices in their lives for reasons other than what may actually be best for them. It also shows that how we see someone doesn't actually give their story, so we should not make assumptions before really getting to know someone. Basic teachings that we sometimes forget and need to be reminded of.

Every night, in her dreams, she gets to visit with her deceased family members who help guide her through difficult situations in her life. When she wakes up, she isn't able to remember the dreams, only that she has strong feelings of obligation. I was interested in the concept of being able to visit with relatives who have passed on. Everyone wishes that they had just a few more minutes with their late relations. I just could not relate to the main character. In all honesty, I struggled to finish this book. I understand that we all have our own struggles and battles, but I just couldn't get on board with her decisions. The writing style was great and there were details about New York that helped me with the imagery, as someone who has yet to visit the state. Overall, I would recommend this book to someone who enjoys "a work in progress" reads. It just wasn't for me.… (mehr)
