Fifteen years have passed since her sister was kidnapped, now Marnie Hammond is a Detective Sergeant. But all her fears are about to come back when in a woodland in Kirkhead remains of a young girl are found.
An enjoyable and interesting tense story, well-written and a good start to the new series.

A police procedural which although an interesting read the swearing did become too much

Thoroughly enjoyed the latest addition to the Marnie Hammond series. Some very unexpected twists that keep you guessing and you want to just keep on reading to see what happens.

I didn't get into this book straight away and wondered whether I was going to enjoy it, but very soon it had grabbed me and I loved it. Even shed a tear at the end. Quite a bit going on and plenty of action but all came together

What a ripper of a book. What a storyteller Robin Roughley is. To me, Tunny seems to be a gentle soul underneath and dealing with the horrors of this case is causing him so much pain. I had to keep taking breaks to absorb all the sadness and sickness, but then I would have to keep reading to see what happened. Great book.

Gritty, fast-paced and with a well-thought plot, this is a great read.

The main character, DS Marnie Hammond, is really interesting and well developed, so you can perfectly understand why she makes the decisions she makes. I liked her so much that now I'm ready to go looking for the previous book in this series.

A truly engaging book.
