Rezensionen

Nicholas Ruddick’s “The Fire In The Stone” is an excellent look at prehistoric fiction, a sub-category of Speculative Fiction I never really thought about before. I tend to view these works as Science Fiction, with the science being Anthropology or Palaeontology, but regardless this was a fascinating book which focused on these works in all their forms.
This book is part of the Wesleyan Press Early series titled “Classics of Science Fiction”. The majority of the books in the series include new translations of works of fiction with notes to support a scholarly look at the work, but there are some books in the series which look at other aspects of Speculative Fiction, and this would be the best example of that type of work thus far in the series.½
