These were ok, better written than some short story collections I have read. I felt a lot of the characters seemed two dimensional and were the same kinds of characters in different stories just doing slightly different things. After a while everything seemed to blur into itself, especially when the same type of description or word usage was used in more than one story. Sometimes expression was disjointed and I found it hard to follow. Some things ended too quickly and I felt cheated, especially the 'it was a dream' ending or completely unfinished and wrapped up in a few lines as a tale told to someone else. Felt as if the writer was stuck for an ending and after a quick fix or couldn't be bothered to write any more. I certainly didn't feel on the edge of my seat as the blurb suggested I would be. In fact, I actually fell asleep reading the last story in this collection at 11am in the morning after a full night's sleep. I probably wouldn't read any more by this author.… (mehr)
