This book is filled with nuggets of wisdom that will certainly challenge you to view youths differently. I really love the quote "Youths are leaders today, not just tomorrow." The journey that the authors (Pastor Tan Seow How & Pastor Cecilia Chan) took in pioneering a youth church 20 years ago with close to nothing (except a whole lot of fight and faith), in building HOGC to what it is now (a world-class church) is absolutely inspiring. This is a must-read for anyone who is involved in youth work. Or actually, even if you're not, i highly encourage you to read this because the principles shared in GenerationS will surely elevate your mindset and shape your perspective in living for a greater cause - the cause to reach down to generations of youths and empower them to do great things for God.
Also, i absolutely loved how Pastor How and Pastor Lia dedicated and gave all the glory to God! The authors mainly raved about the youths they lead, instead of their efforts to help the youths (which is so amazing, their hearts for youths are truly admirable). They are people who talk the talk and walk the walk, and their love and belief in youths clearly evident from all the testimonies shared (and may i add, were so heartfelt, where some actually moved me to tears!). With that said, i strongly encourage all Christian leaders and pastors to check this gem out!… (mehr)

I teared reading amazing testimonies of lives changed. They made me laugh and cry... It is so insightful to read about the impact that youths can make in a church. Through the stories, I saw how God is ever so real and undeniable, and how the church loves and empowers the youths.
I highly recommend all to read this - full of Godly principles, wit and humour. Pastor Tan Seow How & Pastor Cecilia Chan have shown that a world-class youth church is possible - having thousands of youths who are passionately loving God, life and others.… (mehr)

In Heart of God Church we believe that students can do well and do good at the same time. When students volunteer in church, excel in school andhave great relationships with their families at the same time, these three aspects form a stable tripod that allows them to reach their full potnetial in life.
Every year, we dedicate a weekend to teach on Academic excellence (AE). Since AE was launched in 2005, we have seen students improving in their grades, coming in top in their schools and growing in curiosity and confidence as they apply the principles of AE. Our youths have consistently outperformed the national average over the years.
Our 2008 "A" level batch produced our most stellar results ever! 51% attained at least 2 "A"s, 29.4% at least 3 "A"s and 25% at least 4 "A"s.

Really appreciate the authors Pastor How and Pastor Lia are so real to share their experiences - you can hear faith, passion, and even humor altogether. There are other contributors in this book, and it is interesting to hear their different perspectives.

This book will make you think beyond yourself and your generation. The principles shared are timeless and so useful for those who are involved in youth ministries!
