Why Do Computers Know So Much? von Jennifer Shand
I liked this book. This book was about sharing in a kid friendly way how some of the most common technologies in our lives work. I thought that this was great because we are now living in a world that kids are forced to use technology just for school but also live in it at home. I think it's important that students know how technology works and why sometimes it doesn't. Especially because it is apart of their lives so much. I think I would for sure use this in the classroom so students can start to get an understanding for why and how the things they use everyday work. From here we can expand on the other technologies we use everyday and maybe explore how and why they work.… (mehr)
This is a high level book that asks students questions about different things that happen in nature. They ask them to infer and make predictions about why these things occur in nature then give the true explanation on why it happens. The pictures give the book a more interesting take on each nature related even because they are very animated and grab your attention easily
This is an enjoyable introduction to basic technology, presented in a silly Q&A format that I think middle elementary kids would enjoy. Each page is a different technology and they don't go in to very much detail. It almost seems like the book was intended to be read to even younger kids.
