What an amazing book! I expected a small thin catalog with low quality reproductions. However, this book is a large, (10.5' x 14.75') heavy, coffee table sized book with excellent color and black and white reproductions. It is more like a full retrospective with interviews and biographies of both artists in Japanese and English. For Toshio Shibata, there are examples from all his books (Quintessence of Japan, MCA Chicago catalog, Dams, Photographs, Terra, Landscape 1, Landscape 2, Visions of Japan, Type 55, etc). There are 287 pages (!!) with many fine reproductions included and examples of their work are from their early college years to 2011. A high quality artbook with images not found elswhere for both artists. You won't find a better Toshio Shibata book!… (mehr)
