Shi Yingzhao

This book is about the history of wood in China and its specific significance. Unfortunately, too much of the book is about Chinese culture with no connection to wood. e.g. Given the title you would expect to learn about the actual wooden coffins they used not just that they used wooden ones followed by a long explanation on the cultural reasons for various burial styles. There is some interested information on Chinese building techniques but they really need diagrams as a list of the pinyin names of various joints are meaningless.… (mehr)
