He smiled up at her. She blinked, then blushed. He was pretty and made her stomach feel funny.
I just bet he did!
This is a really cool concept of the children of Poseidon finding their mates and being torn between living on land and being at sea. I wasn’t sure if this is YA or new adult.

Unfortunately, after writing this up twice, my internet kept crashing and lost my total review. Here's my third try!

Fans of the Ballerina Series will be happy to see Dante's story in The Dancer, he's just been Ivy's best friend and now you get to see into his past and who he really is. Dante is going to Ivy and Maze's wedding, he's had a crush on Ivy since the moment he met her, but he supports their love and wants to be there for them. He's tagging along with Vin, Maze's best friend. Vin's brought a date with him, Kali, and Dante can't stop looking at her. Kali is a bad-ass, beautiful rockstar and Dante wants her in his life. After being apart for several months, Kali returns to New York from her European tour and they decide to give their relationship a shot. However, there's hurdles to face with their pasts and a weekend trip that just doesn't go as planned.

I was really glad to get Dante's story after reading The Ballerina series. I heard about The Dancer first and was drawn to it, but felt pretty disheartened about who Dante was. The Dancer showed a side of Dante the reader never saw, because he was always just the best friend. He's got a past that affects his daily life and he's far more than just a dancer. Plus, it was really nice to see another side of Dante in the relationship field. He was so caught up in Ivy that I kind of assumed he'd never find someone to live up to that. The relationship between Dante and Kali is one of insta-love, they're wrapped up in each other from the moment they catch each other's eye. However, their relationship grows slowly once they come together. The sexual tension is high, the lust is evident, but they talk like a couple should, face problems together, and support one another. I felt they had a strong relationship by the end of the book and I was happy to see Dante happy.

Similar to The Ballerina series, some of the hurdles that jump in the way of Kali and Dante are excessive. I liked the addition of the suspense moment, it was right for Ursula Sinclair's writing, but the situation with Christy just made me annoyed. It's a fast moving back and some of the situation really hindered the relationship story. Overall, I was happy with The Dancer, it was better than The Ballerina series for me, and it is easily a standalone novel.

WOW!!! I am speechless and I loved this book and can't to read the next!!I loved that Maya Trent thought to try to save the teenage boy. She was on a vacation to try to figure her life and future. Since she arrived, she has dreamed three nights in a row about a black dragon with emerald eyes. She informed previous tour guide that she wanted to see the site and she was going back to look again. I loved her take charged way. I loved that Draakar set aside his life to do what was best for the Brethen that wanted to return home to Akgon giving up find his soul mate. A betrayer had the number of dragons in the thousand instead of hundred of thousands. Book one is the appetizer!!!… (mehr)

ABR's original Shadow Wars Homebound audiobook review and many others can be found at Audiobook Reviewer.

Ursula Sinclair’s Shadow Wars: Homebound is a creative and interesting story about two people meeting via technology and by all reasoning, accidentally. Veil, a young adopted male living in the U.S. finds a unique cell phone. Face-time capabilities he discovers a beautifully stunning woman answering the phone. Nikki has been kidnapped, her phone only dials the one phone which he holds in his hands and a bald fierce looking man is holding her prisoner in England.

The fierce bald looking man and some others radiating blue laser blasts are now tracking him down. They take on an entire police force and kill an F.B.I. agent before Veil decides to hop a plane and rescue his princess. To save her, he must not only find and free her but he has to get her away from the “out of this world” men in dark trench coats.

Now, Veil and his princess Nikki discover they are linked in more ways than just the cell phone. She is his princess and he is her lead. Together they must reclaim and rule a distant world and fight off an army of Shadow Warriors. The ending was a twist I was not expecting!

Shadow Wars is a creatively written science fiction book with some romance. The character development was well done; she made all the characters come to life for me. The story line flowed easily and was consistent. Nikki and Veil came across as very strong characters that are visibly growing.

Todd Van Linda did a good job of narrating for the most part. I did not enjoy his rendition of the sex scenes. He was a bit enthusiastic and noisy. I found myself laughing. Otherwise I thought he did a good job.

The production of this book was a bit confusing at times. Words were repeated and at times spoken too quickly as if it were on fast forward. I do not believe this was Todd Van Linda’s performance but rather technical.
