"Voodoo" by Brian W. Smith

My Assessment:

Another good series by this author,'Voodoo,' is where we find Donald 'Sleepy' Carter helping Elizabeth ...Lizzy investigates a compelling case. The story was a mind-blowing case where one will learn a lot about Voodooism. Even though I enjoyed the story...I am still waiting for when the story comes out about 'Sleepy Carter.'… (mehr)

"The Mardi Gras Murders" by Brian W. Smith
My Assessment:

As always, this author's 'Sleepy Carter Mystery series is excellent and will not be a disappointment. This particular story with Donald Sleepy Carter helping Lizzy [the detective] figure it all out was quite a mystery solved. But the real story for Lizzy will be when she finally finds out how her parents died. Also, it was interesting to learn so much about Mardi Gras history. All this leaves one waiting for the next read of the author's beautiful mysteries.… (mehr)

"Animus" by Brian W. Smith

My Opinion:

'Animus' meaning a strong dislike or enmity; hostility attitude as this title fits so well to this story. For some reason, I felt sorry for Robert Sumina in what all he had endured during his childhood with that horrible father, Enis. So, as the story plays out, this author lets the readers understand just how awful he was to Robert and his mother, and you know that karma is coming. However, what a surprise that was ... and to find out what that surprise contains...you will have to pick up 'Animus' and see what this author has in store for the reader. Wow, that is all that is left to say when it is all said and done. After reading this good read, I wondered if I missed signs that I didn't see that ending coming. Very well done to the author for another excellent story that was well-told.… (mehr)

Review:
"Disjointed Custody" by Brian W. Smith & Elaine Flowers

My Opinion:

The story really had me turning the pages to see what was coming next for these characters. I felt sorry for the daughter, Suni, as her parents when back and forth with their mess. I was glad when it was brought to light what he was doing to Melissa. We find Melissa was already a mess from suffering from a nervous breakdown, definitely didn't need what Ryan was trying to do...all to get custody of their daughter. I wished that Ryan had listened to his partner Gerald who tried to help him, but it did no good so that I wasn't surprised by what happened between the two.

All in all, this was quite a read, definitely being one 'Disjointed Custody' battle.
