This would be a good book for kids in 1st through 2nd grade. I thought this book was super cute and very informative of the food in Jamaica! It's a good representation of a relationship with a grandmother, something we can all relate to, regardless of culture. It's also a good window into other countries for children.

This book is appropriate for primary students.
A young girl wants to learn to cook and struggles to master her grandmother's recipes. Through practice she is able to get closer to mastering the recipes.
This book would be helpful in a primary setting when illustrating how to not give up when faced with challenges.
