I believe "Little Women" is a good book to assign for students to read, especially young girls. I believe this to be so because the book is based on the hardships and moments of triumph of a group of sisters in the 1800s, and I find this to be a good way for young girls to admire other young girls like themselves. I think sometimes women main characters aren't as many are less frequent than male, and I think if young girls saw more women as characters in books it would help with their self esteem and how they see themselves , etc. Little Women is based on a real family named "The Alcott"' family, and the characters are similar to how the family was at the time. The Alcott's house is still standing today in Concord, Massachusetts as a museum.… (mehr)
