A selection of Erik Steinbrecher's collected sketches and drawings from the early 80ies up until now.
Erik Steinbrecher is a true art lover. He loves art and makes art ever since he can remember. This small volume for the first time combines a selection of his collected sketches and drawings from the early 80ies up until now; doodles, drafts, gouaches, chalkdrawings, montages on paper. It is about conceptual studies, outlines for artworks and concrete art.
Erik Steinbrecher (born 1963 in Basel, lives and works in Berlin) is known to a wide international audience particularly since his participation in documenta X (1997) as well as further major institutional presentations such as at Kunst-Werke in Berlin, MoMA PS1 in New York, the Kunsthalle Vienna, the Museum Haus Konstruktiv in Zurich or The Weserburg Museum of Modern Art in Bremen. Steinbrecher released numerous books and printed matters, which always expose a strong conceptual idea and function as independent artworks.… (mehr)

Artist's book based on a series of photos of advertising vitrines around the erotic-dance scene located in Zurich's red-light district.
After work artist Erik Steinbrecher every now and then takes a stroll around town. For this project he explored Zurich's red-light district around Langstrasse with his camera in his pocket. He took photos of the advertising vitrines around the erotic-dance scene located there. A selection of these photographs of artistic dancers were then printed out and overworked by Steinbrecher.
This book is Steinbrecher's third work with Nieves and the last piece of an artist's books trilogy, alongside Ital Thai Chinese and Paint (in collaboration with Zuni Halpern) and Möhren in Athen.
