I guess that every issue in this comics series is getting better and better. Almost all of the stories in this installment are good but my favorites are Fork in the River, Fireworks, Hair of the Girl, Beignet Stand, Traditions, Babysitting, and Whisks.
There are 5 writers who contributed to this 6th issue that's why maybe there are more better stories here than the previous issues. The comic strips that I found funny are Buddy System, Archery Training, Rapunzel's One Woman (And Pet) Show, Twelfth Night, Bath Time, Romeo and Juliet, and Rap-Stallion.
So cute! And while the owning library may list this as a juvenile title, teen and adult fans of the Muppets would love this as well. So many inside jokes, and pop culture references (such as a Doctor Who reference, woohoo!). Fun book.
J’ai bien rigolé avec comics. Les auteurs revoient plusieurs nouvelles de Conan Doyle mais à la sauce Muppet. Il s’agit de The Speckled Band, A Scandal in Bohemia, The Red-Headed League, The Musgrove Ritual. Tous les éléments y sont mais le côté bras cassé de Holmes et Watson fait trop rigoler (je sens que mon billet va être trop constructif). Pour donner une idée, la première présentation de Watson est celle-ci :
London is the town I call home. But then, why call home ? If I’m far enough to call, I know I’m not there to pick up. This is Baker Street. My name is Dr. John Watson, PhD, Asc, Dds, Html, Nba Mvp, Eieio. Vc E Bar, Crufts 1855 best in show. I practice medicine, badminton and improv. I’m the only doc in town who can remove a heckler’s appendix by backhand lift ! I’ve just moved in with an odd natured but even tempered fellow. Many call him “the world’s greatest detective (19th century only) but I call him. Actually, I just call him Holmes. Not to be confused with London, which London, which I call home, or house, who is nothing like Holmes. Ouch, I’ve got a homonym headache…
La seule chose que je pourrais regretter, c’est les couleurs orange et violette des personnages (Lestrade est une grenouille très verte, un peu comme les petits pois en Angleterre) qui ont agressé mes yeux fragiles.
Rien que pour voir Irene Adler vous écrire “Kissy – kissy !”, ça vaut le coup d’être vu.… (mehr)
