This well written book contains much helpful information on soil, how it works, how to improve the soil you have and related matters. Unless you're going hydroponic, you need decent soil. If truth be told the book covers a much more than the title implies. For example, one on soil loss ("Loosing Ground") and the problem of toxic materials from gardening ("Arsenic and Old Plastic"). Good references supplied as well.

If you are a reasonably serious gardener, this book should be on your book shelves. Get the latest dirt on dirt; it's available today for just under $7 at Amazon (with two good 5 star reviews), Mr & Ms Gardener. Well worth it.
