I'm not so hot for the illustrations, but it's a pretty cute reversal of Goldilocks.

Cute enough, but pretty much just a switcheroo from the classic; nothing really special.  I have a sense that it's famous... maybe in 1990 it was groundbreaking?

Funny reversal story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Kids would think this is hilarious. Would be good to use after reading the original Goldilocks.

This is a very sweet retelling of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears," except with a human family and a little bear that wreaks havoc. I loved this book as a child; the illustrations are bright and colorful. This would be a fun story to read to a group of very young students for story time, as many of them are probably familiar with the original fairy tale. I'm not sure how to use this in a lesson, unless we were doing a unit on fairy tales and looking at different versions of stories, which would be interesting. The characters don't really develop in this book as it is meant for very young audiences.

I liked this story because it was a great alternate story to Goldilocks. I liked the illustrations in this book because they weren't full page illustrations, they were simple but really helped enhance the text. For example, when "somebody" or the bear tried out all their chairs and they were too big, too small, and just right, the illustration showed each one and the appropriate facial expressions on the bear. I also liked the characters because they were similar to the characters in original goldilocks but they were also developed differently and uniquely. For example, in this book, the bear enters the humans home and messes things up, which makes more sense than the original version of the story. The big idea in this book is to not try anything that isn't yours and to not invade someone's home.

This book is a spin off of goldilocks and the three bear. It has the same storyline to it, but the objects are different. This book is appropriate for younger elementary students.

Summary
The three bears went for a walk in the park to feed ducks. While they were gone, somebody ate their food, wrecked their chair, flooded their bathroom then fell asleep in baby Blair's bed. The three Blairs returned home and saw the mess that somebody had made. They went through the house and saw all that somebody did then finally found somebody lying in their bed. Somebody woke up and ran away.

Personal Reaction
While reading this story, I could not help but drifting away on the story of Goldilocks and the Three little bears that I read and learnt by rote as a child. I especially like the differences in reaction when they found out that their personal belongings were tampered with. Baby Blair's reaction was always presented in the funniest simplest way. The illustrations were quite catchy, colorful and lively.

Extensions
This story can be used as a different version to Goldilocks. I am sure the children would love the version and find it interesting. They can be asked to compare simliar stories by pulling out elements that are alike, and those that are different. Students can also be asked to compare the reactions between the Blairs and tell why they thing the baby reacted like it was not a big deal.

I find myself a bit puzzled by this. It's Goldilocks in reverse, fine, but why are the family so Upper East Side? And why does the baby talk like a Little Rascal caricature from the fifties? And what's the point?½

This story is about a little bear named "Somebody" who decides to go into the Blair's home while they have gone to the park. He make a mess in the kitchen, breaks a chair, floods the bathroom and falls asleep in baby Blair's crib. The Blair's return home to find "Somebody" in Baby Blair's bed asleep and as the Blair parents go to call someone to get the bear out "Somebody" secretly leaves out the window.

Personal Reaction: I thought this was a cute modern fantasy book that took on a different point of view then " Goldilocks and the Three Bears"

Classroom Extensions:
1) I would have an open discussion with the students to see what animal they would like to find in there house.
2)I would have the kids think of other books where you can change the point of view like this one.

This is a good example of a folktale because it includes a vague setting and an implausible adventure of Somebody.
The theme of this book is a good example of an underlying theme because you do not fully understand it until you reflect on what the book is talking about.

A family decides to go to the park on a nice day. While they were out, a bear stopped by for a visit. When they arrived home to find they bear sleeping in Baby Blair's bed, they were very startled.

This is a cute book that is predictable which works well with children because it helps them participate in the reading activity.

When I was in first grade, we read this book, and we each got to bring a teddy bear to class. While we were at recess with our teacher, we left our bears in the classroom and another teacher came in and moved things around. Of course as young children, we believed that the bears really moved our belongings. This is an activity I would also like to conduct for the students in my class as well.

This book is a reverse of the traditional “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”. The bear is the somebody who goes into the house and messes it up. When the three humans come home the bear escapes down the drainpipe.

I like this story because when I was small I had the traditional “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” memorized.

This book would go well when stretching the student’s imagination. I would discuss with the student’s different variations that could happen in the book. Next I would have the student’s write their own variations of the story.

This story is a twist off “Goldie Locks and the Three Bears”. It is about a baby bear breaking into a humans family’s home. The bear tests all their food, chairs, and beds until he finds the right one fit for him in each of the three items.

I enjoyed this book because it lets children use their imagination! I can relate to this because my parents used to ask if we had bears over because my brother and I would wreck the house.

In the classroom, you could make a story using different characters and instead of using chairs, food, and beds use different items, for example, clothes or toothbrush. Another idea is to change the ending. Have the students make and act out there own story with a different ending.

This book is a twist off "Goldie Locks and the Three Bears". It's about a baby bear breaking into a human family's home. The little bear tries out all their food, chairs, and beds until he finds the right one for him of each of the three things. When the family comes home their house is a wreck. After they walked through the mess, Baby Blair found a giant teddy bear in his crib fast asleep. When his parents left out of the room, the baby bear hopped out the window, and Baby Blair told him " see you tomorrow".

I liked this book book because it lets the children use thier imagination and think about all the silly things baby bear is doing. I can relate to this because sometimes when I come home from work it looks as if two little bears were tearing up my house.

In the classroom, we could act out the story with different animals to see if the children could remember the beginning, middle, and end of the story. We could also make a list of animals that could or could not make the mess baby bear did.

The story “Someone and the Three Bears” is an excellent story. It is about a young baby bear that find the Blair’s home. The baby bear first eats some of all three Blair’s food, then he sits on all three Blair’s chairs and then goes to sleep in all three Blair’s beds. At the end the little bear feels most comfortable with the baby Blair’s bed and at the end they find the bear in the baby’s bed and the bear runs away.

I would use the book in my story if someone in my class had to share with a sibling or family member. I think it would help the student see the bears perspective of eating and relaxing and sleeping and why little bear or family member is using stuff that is no their and hopefully it will help with easing a child into sharing. I also would write or rehears the little bears perspective and change the sstory like a backwards book.

The story does relate to me because when I was younger I did have a problem sharing and a story similar the this one helped me get through that facts that people share. It Also reminds me of my little cat because she always jumps on my kitchen counters and tries to eat our food, she always sleeps in our chair, and sleeps in our beds. But it was very fun to read

This book is opposite of the Three Bears. It's very funny and the bear is alot messier than goldilocks.
