Very intriguing book - I love her idea of getting undergraduates who might not be interested in theology otherwise interested by way of the Harry Potter series.

I didn't read all of her analysis in detail enough to say whether she represented the theological positions accurately (I didn't want to waste time on that when I plan to get my own copy later in which I could write about anything that comes up) - but I would say it needs to be evaluated carefully as there is at least one error that I caught (she attributes the "Wesleyan quadrilateral" as the "methodist quadrilateral" and attributes it to Charles Wesley (instead of being created by later scholars based on the ideas of John Wesley) and then claims Charles Wesley founded the United Methodist Church (of which there was no denomination with that title until the late 1960s when it formed from a merger). Granted I'll acknowledge that the idea of what she was saying was correct and I get that for non-wesleyans that may have been correct enough, but still..makes me wonder how much of the rest should be double checked.… (mehr)
